Melina Mai is an investor at Big Pi Ventures, a deep-tech early-stage venture capital fund with $100 million in assets under management. Through Big Pi she invests between $500K and $3 million as an initial investment per company. Melina is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, conducting due diligence, deal structuring, and supporting portfolio startups, particularly in AI, Life Sciences, and Climate-tech. She is actively involved in fostering the startup ecosystem, providing mentorship to universities and accelerators. Before joining Big Pi, Melina worked as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company, where she contributed to strategy and operations projects for leading companies in various sectors, including Energy, Banking, Insurance, and Telecommunications. She holds an Integrated Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (Metsovion), with a diploma thesis focused on deep learning.
