During 10 – 12 October 2023, ARIS supported the visit of a student group from Hamburg School of Business Administration accompanied by their tutor Mr. Jason Harman to Limassol, Cyprus. The student group selected Cyprus as their study excursion to learn more about energy and renewables, shipping and maritime, banking and fintech, and startups.
ARIS was the first stop of their study trip on October 10, through which they gained a better understanding of how our acceleration program works and had the chance to participate in an interactive brainstorming workshop and interact with our resident start-ups. The interactive workshop was facilitated by Dr Elias Hadjielias, Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship at Cyprus University of Technology.
The following day, on October 11 was our visit to BSM Cyprus Maritime Training Center where the students had the chance to gain deeper understanding about the maritime industry and the vast operations of the company in Cyprus and abroad. The students were also toured around the premises of BSM and given the chance to use the bridge simulator and “drive” a cargo in various weather conditions in an augmented reality setting.
Next on the agenda was our visit to CUTing Edge, where ARIS and the students got to see and try various state-of-the-art equipment like 3D printers, cameras, drones, robotics and go through a Virtual Reality experience!
Last stop of the visit was at SignalGenerix on October 12. There the students were given the opportunity to dive into the field of digital signal processing and communications, through a very insightful presentation and learn more about the company’s state-of-art solutions, having an impact in the community.
