On June 1st the final event of the BalkanMed Gazelle project was successfully hosted by the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT). The event was held in a hybrid format, including both online and in-person participants and provided an overview of the project’s accomplishments, results, breakthroughs, and success stories. With the completion of the event marked the end of an initiative that has significantly accelerated the expansion of the Balkan-Mediterranean start-up ecosystem – the Gazelle project.
During the event Anthi Chatzikyriakou, Assistant Manager, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center presented ARIS also highlighting its key activities as an external expert of the Gazelle project, from inviting innovative SMEs and carrying out start-up evaluations, to implementing an acceleration programme, facilitating technology transfer, organizing an international investment forum and a conference, and operating a local support center for innovative SMEs in the Balkan-Med region.
Other highlights from the event included the presentation of the Startuptoolkit, a platform developed to cater to the project’s needs, by Mr Hristo Andreev from CUT. The platform provides resources for startups and entrepreneurs across the globe.
The event also offered attendees a close look at successful startups nurtured under the project:
- – IREROBOT, which is a resident start-up at ARIS and was represented by Kyriacos Clerides.
- – Nextbike, represented by Neofytos Ioannou.
The BalkanMed Gazelle Final Event is an important milestone in the region’s innovation path, showing the project’s beneficial outcomes and laying the groundwork for future entrepreneurial success stories.
